Lowering Cholesterol With Green Tea

This is another reason to fall deeper in love with green tea.
If the ability to fight cancer and keeping weight is not a good enough reason to make friends with green tea, then this might be. A study found that this tea has the ability to lower bad cholesterol in the blood (LDL).
The study concluded that, although not large, green tea can reduce cholesterol levels up to 5-6 points. This is due to the content of catechins that can reduce LDL uptake in the intestine.
To maximize the reduction of cholesterol, the researchers recommend us to eat other foods like whole grains which are rich in fiber, fruits, and vegetables. Replace foods that are rich in saturated fats with foods containing healthy fats such as olive oil, avocados, nuts, and fish.
