Placing food in plastic containers in room temperature too long might have the possibility of the plastic components evaporating into the food. In fact, this process will be faster if the temperature around is hot.
Components of plastic that might evaporate are styrene monomer, acrylonitrile, and vinyl chloride. All of these components could lead to cancer. But, not need to fear and avoid using plastic containers. To be safe, follow these tips:

Choose a container with the label “microwave safe”. This writing advice that this container can be safely used in hot condition and is safe when heated in a microwave. We can also put hot and cold food in it.

Lookout for the safe logos, such as “food grade”, “food safe”, or picture of a glass and fork at the bottom of the container. Actually, there are seven classes of plastics used as raw material for food containers and utensils

Use products with a trusted brand. Why? As there are many who are not responsible often includes a logo “safe” in their product that has no guarantee quality.
