Loving Citrus

Lovers of orange can smile as they have a lower risk of stroke.

There’s no need to doubt the content of vitamin C from this sweet and sour flavor fruit. Orange and its vitamin C are known to repair skin damage caused by free radicals. Making it a favorite fruit to be consumed by many. However, there are other reasons that could make us fall in love with this fruit. Flavanoid, one of the antioxidants present in citrus and tea, seemed to have a relationship in reducing the risk of ischemic stroke in women. Ischemic stroke is the condition of blockage of blood vessels that cause the blood flow to the brain be partly or completely stopped.
Basically, researchers found that women who consumed more flavonoids in the food menu for a period of 14 years reduced their risk of getting cancer by 19 percent. This is when compared with women who ate very few flavonoids.
The study involved 70 thousand women participating in the Nurses Health Study. Researchers found that tea is the largest source of flavonoids in the diet of women, followed by fruits like apples and oranges, or orange juice.
Nothing wrong with implementing a healthy diet by eating five servings of fruit a day if the future could be a healthy body. Avoiding disease in the future is an important investment that can be started from now.
