Stop! Don’t Brush Your Teeth Just Yet

When is not the right time for brushing teeth?

The answer is that after we consume soft drinks or drinks that contain acid.
We all know brushing is one of the very good habits to keep our teeth healthy. But, you know if i brushing the teeth after sipping drinks “acid” will only give bad impact to the health of our teeth.
The reason is a combination of acidic soft drinks, juices and isotonic drinks and movement “rough” scrubbing will erode the enamel. This is what eventually led to cavities. Acid content will soften the enamel making it more susceptible to damage when brushed.
So, rather than taking a toothbrush and toothpaste every time you finish drinking acidic beverages such as juices, soft drinks or isotonic drinks, it’s better to rinse with water only. This will help us clean up the acid content of our teeth. Or, we can also chew sugarless gum to increase saliva production or saliva to neutralize acids in the mouth.
If you still want to keep brush your teeth, wait about an hour after consuming beverages or foods that contain acid. An hour is considered sufficient time for the tooth to return to the original condition and the effect of the acids to wear off.
