Vitamin E, vitamin C, and selenium, the key in preventing pancreatic cancer.
Cancer is one of the world’s deadliest diseases. Imagine, every year 12 million people worldwide suffer from cancer. In fact, 7.6 million of them died. So, how do we prevent or at least minimize the risk of this disease?
According to a study, one way to prevent cancer, especially in this case is pancreatic cancer, is to eat foods rich in vitamin E, C, and selenium.
The study says, people who eat foods rich in these antioxidants have the possibility of three 2/3 times smaller for pancreatic cancer. This compared with people who consume fewer nutrients are.
Vitamin C, E, and selenium is good for our health in general. And it also can help us prevent pancreatic cancer.
The study involved more than 23 thousand people aged 40-74 years. Those who consume more selenium could slash the risk of this cancer by half when compared to those who rarely eat them. While the participants who ate these three antioxidants reduce the risk of up to 67%.
We can get vitamin C from citrus fruits, red berries (eg strawberries), and red or green peppers. Vitamin E can be obtained from vegetable oils, nuts, seeds, and egg yolks. While we can obtain selenium by eating cereals, fish, and meat.
