Vitamin C A Hope For Tuberculosis Cure

Vitamin C can kill lab-grown tuberculosis bacteria of tuberculosis (TB). The scientists actually found this result by accident while testing. They say vitamin C is deadly to the disease. The surprising finding that may pave the way to handle immune bacteria.

There are approximately 650,000 people in the world who have TB and can’t be treated but further research is needed to see whether vitamin C can be used for treatment in humans.

In the study, vitamin C serves as a so-called reducing agent, ingredients that trigger the production of free radicals. Free Radicals is deadly to TB even to those drug-resistant and cannot be cured by antibiotics including isoniazid.

Researchers said the new results indicate trials in the tube and do not know whether it can be done in humans and in animals. However, this result is a large step considering there is still a kind of tuberculosis that has no cure. And in the laboratory, that type (TB) can be kill with vitamin C.

Vitamin C is not expensive and widely available. So at least, study showed there is a new mechanism that can be used to treat tuberculosis
