Mother’s Obesity, Heart Disease Risk Babies

Children born to mothers who are overweight or obese tend to die sooner of heart disease, stroke or heart failure according to the findings of the research.

Research shows the risk of dying before the age of 55 increased by 35% in adults whose mothers were overweight during pregnancy.It is not known how robust these findings relationship with genetics, influences in the womb or lifestyle in adulthood. But the researchers say the results of their research should be of concern to public health.

This analysis obtained after conducting a study of 28 540 women whose weight is measured by the trimester of first pregnancy and 37 709 children are now aged between 34-61.The research also found that children born to mothers with excess body weight have a risk of hospitalization due to heart attack, stroke or heart failure 42% higher.

Results of this study further emphasize the importance of maintaining a healthy weight, regulate intake diet and to keep exercising during pregnancy.

Previous research also shows a link between obesity during pregnancy and in the control of appetite and metabolism in children with excess weight have an increased risk of heart attack.
