Tendonitis Can Disturb Activity

Tendonitis is inflammation or irritation of the tendons or connective tissue that connects bone to muscle (tendon). The disease that causes pain and tenderness around the joints.

Tendonitis often affect among aged between 30-50 years. Because, at the age tendons had begun to lose its elasticity and weakened, but, do not rule out of tendonitis at a younger age as it also occurs. Tendonitis consists of several types that are distinguished by the source of pain. For example, Achilles tendonitis is a common injury in sports that are part of the Achilles tendon in the heel and calf muscles.

As for the tennis / golfer’s elbow (lateral epicondylitis) is soreness in the elbow commonly affects golfers and tennis players. The pain feels when the hand is used to lift weights and sometimes spread to the wrist.
Patients who have pain in the elbow also came from among housewives. Called the de Quervain’s syndrome. Possibly because of the habit of women who like carrying a bag in for long periods, causing stress on the elbow area of tendon resulting in inflammation.

There is also the so-called suprasitinatus tendonitis, which is inflammation of the tendons on the top of the shoulder joint that cause pain when the arm is moved, especially upward. Some people even feel pain when lying down. In addition, there is the so-called patellar tendonitis, which is an injury to the knee tendon that connects the kneecap (patella) to the shin. The condition is caused by repetitive stress on the knee tendon.

In those cases, inflammation of tendon or torn may occur. Usually the injury experienced by athletes who often move in a jumping motion, running, or kicking.Injuries can occur due to warming-up performed not perfected or could also happen among workers who do a lot of physical activity with repetition of movements, unusual position, a lot of vibration, and excessive exertion.

In the acute condition, patients will experience joint swelling, severe pain, redness, feels warm to puncture compromised joints.

If the condition is left untreated, the symptoms will disappear but the patient will experience reduced mobility when on the move.
