People Who Lack Sleep Are More Likely Hooked On Pizza And Donut

People who lack sleep are usually fonder of eating calorie-rich foods like pizza and donuts. Habits that impact on weight gain and potentially trigger a number of health problems such as high cholesterol levels.

Results of a recent study show that poor sleep habits make a blunt brain. While at the base of the brain activity, motivation and desire become stronger.

Researchers examined by scanning brain reaction of 23 respondents which were young and healthy. The study measured the brain activity of the respondents as they look at 80 kinds of pictures of food with calorie levels from low to high.

Assessment is based on the foods they choose. Some of the respondents choose fruits and vegetables such as strawberries, apples, and carrots. However, most high and popular choice is the pizza and donuts. Those who chose pizza and donuts are mostly those who sleep less. Research shows that the brain reactions tend to make poor choices when one’s lack of sleep.

Research explains brain become disrupted due to lack of sleep. Disorders direct the brain to choose unhealthy foods. Enough sleep can increase body weight control, through the mechanism of the brain in choosing food.
