High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), Is It Safe For New Runners?

High Intensity Interval Training or HIIT is one method that is currently often used by runners, especially those who want to lose weight.

HIIT can theoretically be done by alternating running and walking. Usually used with the concept of high speed, after that resting. There is usually a ratio, how many seconds work, then how many seconds resting, used in a cycle. This exercise is believed to increase metabolism and keep burning calories even after the workout have finished.

HIT is usually done side by side with the weight lifting. If combined properly, this exercise can help reduce chubby stomach and keep your body slim. If you want to feel the benefits, HIIT can be done for 10-20 minutes 2-3 times a week.

But keep in mind; you should not do high intensity exercise without preparation. Before doing HIIT, it is advisable to consult your physician first.

Before starting the activity, see your doctor to find out how high intensity exercise can be used. HIIT is all out, the intensity is very high, so new runners should take precautions.
