Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Is Becoming A Big Threat

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a symptom of bronchitis with a more severe category. COPD is a lung disease in organs because of constraints on chronic respiratory tract. Usually characterized by cough symptoms more than 3 months, shortness of breath, sputum, breath sounds, and discomfort in the chest.

COPD can decrease lung function and is not contagious and usually only experienced by adults. Children rarely suffer from COPD because the disease is caused by the cumulative effects of chemicals derived from cigarette smoke and air pollution.

COPD can also be caused by a lack of the enzyme alpha-1 antitrypsin. This serves to neutralize the enzyme trypsin from cigarettes. If this enzyme is low and a high intake of cigarettes it will interfere with the action of the enzyme system which can lead to respiratory tract infections.
