Similar Blood Type Can Reduce Body’s ‘Rejection’ In Transplantation

When a person is undergoing an organ transplant, rejection can occur as a reaction to the influx of ‘foreign object’ new organs in body of a person. However, rejection of the new organ could be reduced by blood group compatibility between donor and recipient.

Transplantation with the same blood type matching is usually direct. But though they describe a direct fit, the patient must take immunosuppressive drugs throughout their lives to reduce rejection of transplanted organs because organs are very unique.
